Every flower is temporary. Our designs begin with the idea that its beauty doesn’t have to be.
At ICINCO, every botanical pattern starts with a real flower. We don’t begin by drawing a flower, painting one, or creating one digitally. We begin with nature itself.
It Starts With a Real Flower
Flowers are carefully selected and preserved through pressing, allowing their natural form, color, texture and smallest imperfections to remain visible.
Once pressed, each flower is digitally captured in high resolution. We intentionally preserve the details that make it real: the irregular edge of a petal, a subtle change in color, a folded leaf or the delicate structure of a stem.
These are not flaws to correct. They are part of the flower's identity.
From Botanical Specimen to Pattern
The preserved flowers then become our creative material.
We compose them into botanical patterns, exploring scale, repetition, movement and color while maintaining the character of the original specimens.
The result may eventually appear on porcelain, silk, paper, textiles or objects for the home, but its origin remains the same: a real flower that once existed in nature.
This distinction is fundamental to our work.
Our patterns are not illustrations of nature. They are created from nature.
Creating Botanical Archives Through Design
Flowers are inherently ephemeral. They bloom, transform and disappear.
By preserving and digitally documenting the specimens we work with, we create a growing botanical archive that can continue to exist beyond the life of the original flower.
When these flowers become part of an object, their story travels further.
A flower preserved today can live on a piece of porcelain, a silk scarf or a textile years from now. The objects become a different way of experiencing and remembering nature.
As our archive grows, it also becomes a record of the flowers, places and moments that have shaped our collections.
Why We Keep the Imperfections
Digital tools make it possible to make almost anything perfect.
We choose not to.
Nature is asymmetrical. Petals bend. Colors change. Leaves have marks. Two flowers from the same plant are never completely identical.
Removing those characteristics would remove part of what attracted us to the flower in the first place.
Instead, we design around them.
This creates patterns that feel familiar but different from conventional botanical prints. When you look closely, you can still discover the texture, depth and irregularity of the original flowers.
Bringing Real Nature Into Everyday Life
Our purpose is not simply to create floral products.
We want to find new ways for people to live alongside nature, even through the objects they use every day.
A cup at breakfast. A scarf worn for years. A journal on a desk. A table prepared for friends.
Each becomes a small opportunity to reconnect with something that originally grew, bloomed and existed in the natural world.
